TULLY: VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

TULLY:

“Hi, I’m Tully. I’m 17 years old. I am a soon-to-be senior and a soon-to-be junior commissioner of my county. I love learning about the environment and learning about the human body and how it works.”

MAPILLAR:

“My name is Mapillar, and I am the mother of 3 beautiful daughters who all have sickle cell disease. Tully is my oldest.”

NARRATOR:

“INDICATION
What is OXBRYTA?

OXBRYTA is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of sickle cell disease in adults and children 4 years of age and older.
It is not known if OXBRYTA is safe and effective in children with sickle cell disease below 4 years of age.
This indication is approved under accelerated approval based on increase in hemoglobin (Hb). Continued approval for this indication may be contingent upon verification and description of clinical benefit in confirmatory trial(s).”

“IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
Do not take OXBRYTA if you or your child have had an allergic reaction to voxelotor or any of the ingredients in OXBRYTA. See the end of the patient leaflet for a list of the ingredients in OXBRYTA.

MAPILLAR:

“When we heard about Oxbryta and were discussing it with her doctor…for us as a family, that is something we were really interested in seeing how Oxbryta could help Tully increase her hemoglobin level because her hemoglobin tends to run a little low. And so just the increase in hemoglobin and helping to make her body have more healthy red blood cells…we were really interested in that outcome for Tully.”

TULLY:

“Due to the fact that Oxbryta goes straight to the source, I have a high number of healthy red blood cells in my body.”

TULLY:

“I went for my first appointment after starting my Oxbryta journey; I realized that my hemoglobin, it rose.”

TULLY:

“That made me very, very proud because I was very consistent with my medicine.”

MAPILLAR:

“I’m so proud of her. She understands what this medicine is doing for her.”

MAPILLAR:

“Her hemoglobin was now higher than it was. So that was pretty exciting.”

MAPILLAR:

“And her bilirubin it decreased. We were just excited for the increase in hemoglobin, and honestly the bilirubin is an icing on the cake.”

TULLY:

“I realized that some days I do need to rest and I do need to take a break every now and then just to catch my breath and just to get back to being me so I can continue my activities again.”

MAPILLAR:

“You know sickle cell disease is so unpredictable, and with Oxbryta helping her have more red blood cells, we have less unpredictable days, which gives her more time to be, like she said, herself and to do the things that she loves.”
